The Spot is a family-run beverage concession business based in Houston, Texas. We serve thirst-quenching lemonade at parties, fairs, sports events, corporate events, festivals, and more.
But The Spot is so much more than just a concession stand.
Our business started out as a way to provide meaningful employment for Vegan, a young adult on the autism spectrum. Like many of his peers, Vegan has struggled to find viable work opportunities. Many autistic youths experience unemployment and underemployment – an issue that is compounded by false assumptions, stereotypes and stigma about disabilities.
As a family of entrepreneurs, we decided to take a proactive approach. From a young age, Vegan has played important roles in our previous family-run businesses. Currently studying animation at college, Vegan is a skilled artist with a creative spirit.
Our family created The Spot, a weekend-based business that enables Vegan to put his entrepreneurial and creative skills to use. The Spot Fresh Squeezed Lemonade – inspired by Vegan’s love for lemonade.
We’re no strangers to creating businesses that offer our customers top-notch products while creating meaningful change. In the near future, we plan to hire part-time employees who have disabilities. Our goal is to help improve the lives of individuals with disabilities.
If you’re organizing an event and you’d like to host a concession business that promotes positive change, please get in touch.
